The Kestrel is a walnut flute in the key of D minor - Great for beginners, smaller hands, and is easy to play. It is made from domestic black walnut and is sealed with non-toxic oils giving it a clear, bright voice.

This wooden flute is the highest octave in the key of "D" and is a good accompaniment flute for the Condor Bass "D" flute. The key of "D" is the primary key for penny whistles and dulcimers, making this flute a very versatile instrument for playing various music styles.

The higher toned flutes are ideal when used in drum circles and other instruments that tend to be loud. The higher pitch stands out above the lower toned instruments.

It can be played as both a 5-hole or 6-hole flute. It has 6 holes and comes with a leather tie that easily converts it into a 5-hole flute. When comfortable just remove the leather tie and experience the use of the 6-hole.

This flute is 15 inches long. Each flute includes a free "How To Play The Native American Flute" Booklet and DVD (Item 26 - DVD & Booklet - How To Play The Native American Flute).
